Cédric began playing and studying jazz drums at the age of 5, taking Alain Petitmermet’s classes in Lausanne. As a teenager, Cédric attended workshops at the Ecole de Jazz de Lausanne (EJMA) for 2 years, before taking an active part in jam sessions in Switzerland, France and Germany.
From the early 90s, Cédric played in the Big Band of the University of Lausanne, in pianist and organist Alexandre Huber’s jazz quartet with double bassist Popol Lavanchy, and as drummer in the funk group “Latitude ».
In the mid-90s, Cédric crossed paths with guitarist Nicolas Meier (Jeff Beck, ZZ Top) and visited the Berklee School of Music in Boston. Back in Switzerland, he founded his band “4Jazz” with Eugène Montenero, Dominique Favre, Ivan de Luca and Philippe Sellam, saxophonist and founder of the French group “Nojazz”.
In 2022, Cédric travelled to the USA to the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles as part of the “Drum Fantasy Camp” program, where he benefited from the teaching of renowned drummers such as Dave Weckl, Simon Phillips, Mark Guiliana and Steve Smith. This experience gave him the opportunity to play in workshops with Mike Garson (David Bowie), Hagar Ben Ali, (James Corden Late Show), Vinnie Valentino (Vital Information, Georges Benson, Russell Ferrante, Tom Scott, John Pattitucci, Randy Brecker, Steve Gadd, Chick Corea, Dennis Chambers), Stu Mindeman (Dave Weckl’s Band, Branford Marsalis, Kirk Whalum).
In September 2022, Cédric co-founded the acid-jazz band “Synchronicity” with Eugène Montenero. They were soon joined by Franco-Mauritian pianist Lindsay Thomas, Franco-Mauritian bassist Roger Thomas, British musician Andy Findon (flute and soprano sax), British singers Tamara Tare and Mahlia Chellembrom and French keyboardist Patrice Garnero.
